For those of you who love internecine racism

Which Europeans hate one another and why. (I realize that is not a sentence; get off my back. [I realize you're not on my back.])

Stop me if I get political

If I can't spend more than I have, why can George W. Bush? He's deficit spent more than the first 37 presidents and 197 years combined. Since I've been alive, Democrats have cut deficit spending all but four times; Republicans have raised it all but four times. Since when is it okay to take $500 million loans from East Asian communists to fund Middle Eastern wars of aggression? Sometimes I've got to vent.

Government + Mass Media

=Lies. Honestly, was anyone surprised by that? (Video: 56k acceptable and slightly irritating at first...)

The West's condescending-yet-privileged view of Islam

Dennis Prager hits the nail on the head (and, as usual, Christopher Hitchens goes a little too far.) Why should Islam be singled out among faiths? Why can't we talk about certain issues in Islam without being labeled bigots? Aren't Muslims offended that we treat them with such condescending care and concern that is not afforded other religious groups and essentially infantilizes them? Aren't non-Arab Muslims (read: the majority of Muslims) bothered by the ignorant racial connotation of "Islamophobia?" Do Western Muslims realize that the reason we don't criticize Islam in public is because we're afraid of being blown up? Isn't that more offensive to them? Ugh. This is how Western culture is cannibalizing itself...

Londonistan

Christopher Hitchens on the Islamization of England. Horrifying.

Bonus: Interview with Hitchens regarding Islamo-fascism. Excerpt:
Is London going to have another attack?

Of course. Everyone is. No city in the world is not going to have this. It's probably going to be the dominant fact of our future. They will be able to demonstrate with fairly convincing means that there is nowhere that's safe from them. It's coming.

Presidential approval ratings

Politics. Sorry. Check it out, though. Things of note:
  1. This graph is deceptive, as the lowest value is 20, not 0.

  2. Nixon had lower approval ratings than I ever thought.

  3. Clinton ended on an upswing.
